Omaha Conservatory of Music is seeking Artist-Faculty, part-time and full-time, to join our team of expert educators! We’re looking for musicians who are not only skilled performers and teachers but also innovative, collaborative, and deeply invested in student growth.

Artist-Faculty work with a wide range of students, from young beginners (ages 3–8) to advanced learners in private and group settings. This role is approximately 80% teaching and 20% administrative and collaborative work.

While we’re hiring a variety of educators, we are most interested in hiring in the following instruments:

  • Cello
  • Violin
  • Piano
  • Voice
  • General Music Educator (Part-Time)
Responsibilities
  • Provide expert instruction in individual and group settings
  • Create engaging lesson plans using current pedagogical strategies
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff
  • Manage studio operations, including scheduling, recitals, and student support
  • Collaborate with department chairs and programming staff
  • Attend faculty meetings and participate in departmental initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Performance (required)
  • Two years of teaching experience, including group/class instruction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching young children (ages 3–6)
  • Suzuki training through Book 4
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Familiarity with diverse musical styles and repertoire

These positions are aligned with the academic year (mid-August to mid-June), with pay distributed over 12 months. Additional summer teaching opportunities may be available.
