Strings Program Manager

Full Time Salaried: Reports to Director of Programs

Direct Reports: Strings Teaching Artists

Compensation Range:  $50,000-$55,000

Yearly COLA plus opportunities for salary increases will be evaluated annually.

Responsibilities:

The Strings Program Manager is responsible for the overall safety, development, organization, execution, and administration of the BRAVO Strings Program. Areas of responsibility include the Creation & implementation of curriculum for the beginning & advanced Strings ensembles, Curriculum staff training, supervising of all staff in the BRAVO Strings Program, teaching, leading and/or conducting both beginning & advanced Strings full rehearsals & sectionals, selecting repertoire, overseeing the Private Lessons schedule, and managing the BRAVO Ambassadors program. Proficiency in at least one string instrument is required.

 

Main Duties

  • Ensure that BRAVO’s philosophy, mission, vision and values  are in alignment with the BRAVO Strings program and is carried out in the classroom 
  • Ensure a welcoming environment for BRAVO students and families
  • Primary contact for communication between BRAVO and parents/families
  • Build, cultivate, and oversee the recruitment and hiring process of BRAVO Strings staff
  • Work with Winds Program Director to build and maintain the continuity of the BRAVO Youth Orchestras Program 
  • Assist Operations in ordering & receiving instrument donations and the inventory process for the winds program
  • Work with the SUN Manager, School Admin, and Director of Programs to recruit and enroll new students into the BRAVO beginning Strings program in collaboration with the SUN program model
  • Manage the whole Strings program student enrollment, attendance, data tracking, progress reports, assessments & re-enrollment
  • Work with Winds Program Manager for planning concerts, performances, field trips, Guest Artists & transportation
  • Supervision of any Student Interns or volunteers assigned to work in the Strings program
  • Generate a monthly report of your program and workload
  • Create and manage the overall annual Strings Program Budget
  • Attend monthly meetings, including but not limited to PD training & workshops, staff meetings, program meetings, and 1:1’s
  • Regular 1:1’s and team meetings with all strings Program Staff
  • Oversee Private Lessons schedule for BRAVO Students within the program
  • In partnership with the Winds Program Manager, oversee all aspects of the BRAVO Ambassadors Program (rehearsals, scheduling, onboarding, reporting, performances)
  • Travel between program sites and BRAVO office

 

Community Partnerships:

  • Work with the other BRAVO programs and volunteers, School Districts, SUN Community Schools, and University partners to create sustainable partnerships and collaborative programs.
  • Assist with the BRAVO Community Orchestra and BRAVO Hub performances when available

 

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Based on our community, experience serving bilingual families, students, and staff are highly desirable.
  • Strong commitment to El Sistema’s philosophy of social change through music and the mission/vision/values of BRAVO.
  • Strong knowledge of culturally responsive pedagogy, cultural Competency, and Trauma-informed care is highly expected and prioritized.
  • Administration skills and experience. (Clear written and verbal communication and use of technology).
  • Experience working with community members from diverse racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds; experience working in underserved communities.
  • Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Proficiency in high and low strings
